Anybody have good luck with aftermarket replacement carpet?

I searched multiple old posts where some members were not happy with the fit / looseness / sloppiness - but those were all really OLD.

There are currently 3 or 4 vendors on eBay. Looking for advice or recommendations. Trying to stay under $200. The factory GM carpet is $400+ !

Any help will be appreciated!

I don't think anyone has found a vendor that sells replacement carpet that is perfect. That being said, several members have removed the foam liners that are attached to the OEM carpet and reuse is with the new aftermarket carpet and it looks much better than those that have not.

Yep, it's pretty bad. Been wet, has stains, was smoked in, and two sizable tears on the drivers side. Car just wasn't taken care of - I am rescuing! Wink

I saw the posts about saving the factory foam backing, and may try to do that, and/or use jute padding or other carpet pad in it's place...

Thanks!

If your trying to stay under $200 your probably not going to find a quality replacement. Have you tried junk yards, cragslist, things like that? Shoot ZSPOT a PM and see what he can do for you.

Someone on here replaced their carpet with a custom black job. Looked good.

Right by the bottom floor trim? Heels kill carpet. Laughing

Yep, somebody's heels - probably in giant work boots by the looks of it...

ZSPOT - I did 2 years in the engineering program at K-State. But that was years ago! Anyway, hello from a fellow Kansan, and thanks for checking for me.

Hard to justify $400+ for the original. I might roll the eBay dice...
