Hi guys, I know this can only probably be answered by Will himself, but I have sent him an e-mail regarding this but just haven't heard back yet. I'm going to be shipping him my tuned PCM back to be reflashed for 91+ octane, and up to the 2002 coding, and to include his new transmission controls tomorrow morning.

What I was wondering, which I'm going to include in a letter in the box I send to him is... Is there anyway for him to further firm up the shifts? We are likely going to be getting my car back from the transmission shop tomorrow afternoon, and we probably won't be touching the transmission to do a shift kit anytime soon, but I loved having the firmer quick shifts. Can he change how much pressure is applied when shifting and how fast the transmission shifts through the PCM? I was wondering if he could do this for me to make up for not having a physical shift kit installed in it.

Any ideas/thoughts are welcomed!

when he was in my car tuning away he said he could make it shift harder but depends on what you want, some people just a bit firmer and some want racekar shifts lol.its too bad you cant get a incar tune, but you are essentially stock.i drove 100km/h on a straight road for 40 min today in + weather, went to instant mpg reader on th d.i.c and i was getting 38 mpg! warmer weather the better mpg i keep seeing! be interesting to see what a stock car with a mail in 91 tune pulls.
if you have the car under light load and you have it on firmer shifts it really jolts into gear, doesnt make it a comfy cruiser youll need to shift at higher rpms for a smoother feeling shift and that cost $$ at the pump.

I had an INTENSE Racing Shift Kit in my 2001 Impala on the medium firmness, with the Overkill PCM. The shifts were instantaneous and firm. Like smacking your hand on a table, you could feel every single shift. I loved it. During WOT I could chirp 2nd gear and you'd struggle to keep the car straight. I'm not looking for it to be that insane, but I'm looking to get something NEAR that firm. During medium throttle as well. Doing 75mph on the interstate, driving to the airport in my 2001 I got 33mpg and that was with the 87 octane tune.

Email or a PM on the forum are the best way to get in touch with him. Sometimes he takes a few days to respond, but he is always useful and his tuning skills are impeccable.
