My seat belt red light and air bag red light came on together for about 2 seconds while I was driving home tonight. The seat belt was buckled tight - no one else in car at the time. Any idea what might cause this?

Try wiggling the wire connections under your seat when it happens.. Happens all the time in my car.

for about half a year my airbag light has been on. my fix = a small piece of black duct tape to cover it up Wink

The reason behind it, as i found, is there is a spring in some mechanism that wears loose that causes the light to come on, its inside the steering wheel. It would have been a 200$ repair, so i've opted to use the black duct tape.

Mine used to flicker, but now its on constantly.

Thanks for that suggestion. My air bag light alone used to come on for a couple of days and then go out. I finally removed the air bag fuse and took the yellow connector under the driver seat apart and cleaned it. That fixed that - except what I recently experienced was BOTH the seat belt and air bag light coming on ( no chime) for a few seconds and then both go out.. I suspect this is a different problem than just the air bag light.
