I like it more for the options, such as Bluetooth it has mixed reviews mainly cos I think ppl are incompetent.. I'm not really looking for a powerful deck, I'm good with upgraded speakers and a sub later on. Or anyone have a reasonable other HU option? Pref touch screen. With Bluetooth a must. Thanks..

I've never been a fan of Boss. They use to make some real junk. I don't know how their products have been holding up the past couple of years. Not much help from me but thats my $.02

dont go with boss. There is a reason that they are less expensive than other brands. Quality is horrible.

Fixed that for you. Cheap does not equal good quality when it comes to automotive goods.

I have had great luck with Pioneer head unit aside from the little bit of alternator whine I got before I grounded the RCAs. A few of my friends have nothing but good things to say about their Alpine headunits. Basically, find a respected brand with decent reviews and you can't go wrong. Steer clear of the cheap stuff (Boss, Dual, JVC... etc) and you should be OK.

I've typically run Alpine or Blaupunkt... I've never had any trouble with my equipment, so I haven't done any audio work for probably five years now.

I've also ran alpine in the past. But they were all for single din.. I might just have to go single deck with a humount cover. Thanks.

My Dad has a similar unit in his truck. I borrowed his truck the other day to bing my snow blower in for repair and got to play with it for a bit. Not a bad unit, smaller screen than Id like (side buttons) but all in all its a decent unit if you dont need anything crazy

Actually I found a single din Kenwood that I really like. I'll just add the humount to it as well.. also, what is the adapter I need so I don't have to splice and dice..
Also I want to have nothing to do with the stock amp. I'd rather just remove it if I could and run all my own wires. I'm just confused on where I start to run my own wires anyone having a diagram ?

Running your own speaker wires is pretty straight forward. The hardest part is getting the wire into the grommet in the doors. I used a hanger to pull mine through carefully.

Yeah I saved a few wire hangers for that reason. What adapter do I need to plug into the stock harness to run wires?
