For the wife's iPod in her Saturn, I used a Harmon Kardon Drive and Play for a nice install. The sound quality is great (at least with the wired connector which you will need antenna adapters for) and I ran the iPod connector right into the glove box. I'm fairly certain they have been discontinued, but can still be found on eBay and a few other places around the web.

Just be advised after a certain generation iPod (I'm not sure which, and it may not be compatible with the newer models either), Apple changed which pin on the iPod is for the charge voltage so the Drive and Play won't charge newer iPods.

As for the XM in my Impala, I have the Terk XMDGMK kit which interfaces with the factory HU (but is also discontinued but can still be found online). I have the interface box stuffed in the dash with the radio and the tuner is above the passenger kick panel.

Naa, don't do that, get an FM bypass unit. I picked mine up from Crutchfield years ago.

It's a box that will plug into the FM antenna port on the back of your unit. Mine has an on/off switch that I mounted in the middle compartment below the A/C controls. It will give you a normal headphone sized jack that you can plug directly into your iphone or any other portable music device like a satellite radio dock or someone's Android phone. Into the box you plug the antenna in so you can still listen to the radio if you really want to. It's way better than an FM transmitter because it's a direct connection and you don't need to worry about outside interference breaking up the signal.

You'll need to pop off part of the dash and take out the stereo to put in the new plug but it's not a very hard procedure and they provide all the documentation to know exactly what to do.

If you still have the Kenwood tuner you were selling on eBay:

I have the PIE interface still tied up under my dash but I'm using a Kenwood headend right now. The PIE interface has excellent sound quality but simplistic display on the oem head. For example running a Kenwood cd changer you would only see D1T1 on the display for disc 1 track one. I had a Phatbox and a Disc changer tied to the pie interface but the specs say it will run a Kenwood Sirius tuner. I've only been running Sirius after I switched to the Kenwood head.

I also had a whole integration kit like this one but I sold it without ever installing it:

Bought it for over 100. I also have a unit that will allow you to add an amplifier for either a subwoofer or the interior speakers and tap off of the rca signal from the factory head unit (NOT a line level converter) basicilly one side plugs into the harness that goes into the factory amp, and the other side has an rca jack on it with a clean signal for your new aftermarket amp.

Yes and you can set up playlists that trigger from the preset buttons. its actually a pretty nice setup, when you add the rcas you can build an entire system around the factory radio...
