Hey all, the cluster I have in my 2002 is slowly going out. The display on the bottom is getting dimmer and dimmer and sometimes doesn't work at all. I have another cluster that I can swap in that still works, but it doesn't have the correct mileage. I would ship it out to BBE but then I'll be without a cluster and I can't do that. Does anyone know if the GM dealership would reprogram the old mileage from the old cluster into the new (used) cluster I have?

I doubt it. If anything they would offer to install a new cluster with the correct mileage. If you have an extra cluster, how would be be without one while BBE does his thing?

dont think a dealership can. Its different equipment than the standard Tech II and since they sell cars, having the ability to change the mileage in house would be seen as a bad thing.

The speedo on the one I have now is intermittently working and it's just overall taking a dump. I might be getting a LS Sport cluster off e-bay for $15.49 if I win it.

@Pitch Black SS

Your probably right. Just figured I'd ask before going the BBE route.

I contacted my dealership about this before. and zspot can back this up.

They charge around $120 for the service, and they have to ship it out to have it done because each individual dealership cannot do it.

(lack of equipment, and prob a good idea since I'm sure at least a few employee's across the country would be illegally changing mileage for people)

Talk to BBE, i thought he would ship you out a loaner cluster to use while yours is being worked on for a little bit extra. Not positive though.

Okay cool thanks for that information. If I win that LS Sport cluster I'll plug it in and see how off the mileage is from what I have now. If it's that much off I'll either live with it or get it reprogrammed from BBE.

Yeah same here, I'll drive this car until the doors fall off. (probably literally) I plan on keeping this car for another 4 years once we get the transmission issues sorted out.
