This thing is the spitting image of what Emma's looked like before we re-painted it blue. Except this one only has 2 small spots of rust on the hood! Got it for $746. Needs some work, but nothing I haven't already had to do on Emma's.

The engine is what I'm deeply contemplating now... It doesn't look the least bit fun to work on, but IDK if I really feel like doing another engine swap... I've got some digging to do. This one now has some drivability issues, but I don't want to throw money into it if I'm just going to end up yanking the thing anyways...
I've only owned it 2 days, so who knows!!!

But I really don't need 3 vehicles... So looks like my new VUE is up for sale! lol
I'll bring the Impala back as my DD. Although it loves to dig up my big bills to keep the tank full...

Oh, looks like I need to update the sig too lol. Her cutlass has been painted for about a year now haha.

I always liked those. Would like to do what you did to the blue one, engine swap.

Update!

The engine is actually in the car now, everything is all hooked up, sold the Impala to my sis for $1500.

Still haven't ran it, I need to finish my gauge pillar first (no one makes one for this thing! Been doing some fiberglass work.)

The 3.8 had like 180k miles, it got all new everything besides cam bearings, rockers, and pushrods.

Yup! Honed out all the cylinders! Well, de-glazed them technically I suppose. After everything was put back together with all accessories in place, the engine was turning over with about 20-30 ft lbs on the crank bolt. Should be good as new!

MORE PICTURES!

Here's my fist ever cylinder "de-glazing" job! Turned out better than expected!

Here's my fancy "paint booth"
I just did them in the same base - clear as the rest of the engine bay. I figure it should hold up fine.

Picture on the stand

My car with emma's behind it, and my blue vue, and you can even see the rear of my old impala there!

And any 1st gen w-body owners have probably heard of the horror stories of 3800 header fitment...
I figured my 4lb mini sledge would have done the job:

I was wrong, still had to cut out a bunch.

And pretty much where its at now. Well, it's got the hood on now.

Are you planning to fab up a replacement for the hump you had to mutilate to get the headers to fit in there? Laughing I cant believe the BFH hammer trick was so woefully inadequate.

I think you put the laughing emoticon after the wrong sentence Laughing

I'm sure he has something planned... but I wouldn't be worried about making it look pretty until it's running. Why spend time on aesthetics when you may hit a snag that's not worth fighting through?

I don't know that I'd classify a big old piece of hot exhaust pipe sitting in the passenger cabin strictly aesthetic, but that's just me.

Well, sure, you don't want to leave it that way forever... but if you can't manage to make it roadworthy for lack of parts, knowledge or money, the trans hump would have been a waste of effort anyway.

Also, he may be preparing for the bug apocalypse. How many jugs of washer fluid does he have in there???
