Hey everyone. If you dont remember me, I used to own a 2005 grey LS that i had made several posts about on here last year and in 2010. Once it hit the 150k mile mark I sold it, and picked up a 2008 Subaru impreza 2.5i. I have always been a rally enthusiast and wanted an STi, but the 2.5i was just not me at all. So last week I sold it and went back to the only car Ive ever liked- the impala!!!! I've been wary of buying an 06+ due to their play-doh transmissions, but I bit the bullet and found a MINT, and i mean perfect 2006 SS. It has 60K miles and I picked it up for 12,500 bucks. I already have my mod fund accumulating money as I plan to do the magnaflow catback (comparable to the GMPP i had on my 05), K&N intake, diablosport ECM tune, and get some tints. Other than that I dont want to molest it much. I also plan to install a transmission cooler to prolong my tranny. Heres some pics I snapped on my phone of when i first took it home yesterday. Expect to see alot more of it as the mods are applied.

That is mint! Yeah, they came stock with that dash. It is called "techno design". I think wood grain was a no charge option as well in some earlier years. That ended in the later years all you could get in the SS was "techno design". It is slightly different than the aluminum option on non SS models. Personally, I like the aluminum better than the techno I have in my 09 SS.

The white SS's look really nice, especially yours! I love the two-tone interiors and this one looks immaculate!

Great find!

While I think you picked up a great looking car, I don't understand why someone with serious reservations on tranny reliability would purchase a 2006 SS out of warranty. Did you at least get the service records for the car?

I'd slap an aftermarket air intake on like asap,or at a minimum a Spectre drop in air filter.you know, just to help that V8 breath better Wink

I like the White. They look clean longer.

I was looking for a White SS when I found the Red one I bought. The red is good looking when clean but looks dirty in less than a week just sitting in the garage.
I think, White is the magic clean color.
Very Nice find. Very Happy

Thanks everyone! And believe it or not the previous owner was at the dealership the day I bought it looking at a 2012 impala. I got all the history of the car from him, and believe it or not he was like 75 years old so I know it wasnt abused. And I do intend on getting a K&N intake, but first ,the magnaflow catback.
