My passenger side climate control light is out. I need to know what bulb to buy and what else I need. Anybody can point me in the right way?

Unless you are extremely confident in your soldering abilities either live with it or send it to BBE for an LED upgrade.

I actually found the right bulb size on a monte carlo forum from radio shack is 272-1154. I've never soldered before but im going to give it a shot tomorrow.

Bad idea to practice on the climate control board, I trashed mine in pretty short order. The traces on the board are extremely fragile and if you overheat them just a bit, they peel right off the board.

I've had this happen three times. If you want to practice, go to the junkyard and pull a few - just incase.

On the note of sending it to BBE, I assume you can drive w/o it but what does the system do w/o control? Just off? Or last settings?

This. I'm good at soldering, but I abuse heat because I'm impatient.

The LED that illuminates when you press the A/C button?

When I burnt up one of my boards, my A/C button didn't work anymore - the LED didn't light up either. Make sure everything is still functional before continuing.

It was working before I took the climate control unit out of the car. I actually de soldered the AC bulb out and replaced with the bulb I bought for the passanger side temp lever in the slot by accident because i'm an idiot. I had to de solder it out, put the old one back in, and then replace the pass side temp bub. I must have messed up the solder on the board so I'll have to do it again sometime soon...

That bulb is an LED. Unlike your slider bulb

Thanks. I think the bulb still works. It was kind of loose when I resoldered it to the board. I buttoned up the dash already and it was kind of a lot of work taking the dash apart then taking the HVAC control apart. I'm probablly going to take it apart again and make sure I do a good job soldering in the AC bulb. Prob gonna wait til tomorrow bc I dont want to take it all apart again today.

That being an LED you have to put the bulb in a certain way. LEDs have polarity. If it doesnt work, flip it. But be careful, you will damage the traces.

Oh just btw the bulb for the AC is the same as the bulb for the rear defroster which is right next to it. If you look closely inside the bulb you can see that that the top of the bulb has a skinny prong inside while there is a bigger prong towards the bottom. I think that both the AC bulb and the rear defrost bulb go in the same direction so I need to line up both bulbs with the rear defrost bulb bc I didnt take that one out.

There's a guy locally here selling an HVAC control out of an '04-'05... for $65... with bulbs burnt out! Laughing Laughing Hell if he gets that, I'm selling my old one! Only the passenger side control bulb is out!
