Hi all. I currently have a multitude of issues but this is the one that is perplexing me the most. I have a 2005 LS that the A/C is coming on at random times. Nothing is near the button at the time so I am at a loss as to why this is happening. It seems to be doing it more and more frequently now.

The other two issues are a P0455 and P0171 codes. I have already replaced the gas cap for the P0455, still throwing the code though. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

PO455 is probably the EVAP Canister on the left rear, up by the fuel filler pipe. And just a thought,,the control is not set to defrost?

The main control is set to defrost the front window. When this first started happening I thought I might have accidentally been hitting the a/c button instead of the rear defrost. But after making a conscious effort to make sure I was hitting the rear button it is still happening.

I will check the other part you mentioned.

Turning the selector to defrost turns on the A/C.

You're a good helper.

Cleaned the MAF last night and had all the codes cleared this AM. No new CEL yet so maybe we have fixed the problems.

As for the original topic, I know the defrost is run off the a/c but the light on the button had never come on in the past. If its normal it's normal, no big deal.

Next step? Figure out the airbag light. I really don't want to take the steering column apart, but if that is the fix then so be it.... To be continued.

Air Bag Light....I wouldn't fool with that one. One wrong move and your curtain's.

You cant have no in your heart! One connector and the airbag is a non issue. I've yet to decide if I want to tackle that one or not though.

As for the CEL, I had my local shop reset all of my codes, it hasn't come back yet and it seems to not be idling quite as rough. Fingers are crossed.
