From what I've read, it's better to mount the crossover closer to the speakers if possible. So is there a really good spot on the door to mount it? Any concern with moisture getting to the crossover if it's mounted on the door? What other good spots are there?

I've mounted crossovers in under the door panel on a few cars. I never had a problem with moisture, but I don't have a habit of leaving my doors open in the rain or dumping liquids into them.

I had some on the outside shell before. In the middle of the door somewhere. I just zip tied them in. Took them out after about two years I think. No rust or anything on them.

I was also thinking of zip tying them. Any issues with them vibrating against the door with bass notes?

I took a piece of caprpet foam and put it behind them before install. Never had a problem with it and I was hitting around 139db at the time.

I have my front speaker crossovers mounted in the trunk with no ill effects.
