Thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Andrew and I live in Pennsylvania. I have been visiting this site for almost a year and finally decided to join. I have found lots of valuable information here for maintaining and upgrading my Impala. My Impala is a 2004 SS that I bought about eight months ago to serve as my daily driver. It had 64000 miles at the time. So far I have changed all the fluids/filters, replaced the transmission cooler hoses, brakes, tires, and the ignition switch/key cylinder assembly. I have also added an Indy SS grille, Cold Air Inductions air intake, ventvisors, GM splash guards, and huskyliner floor mats since the attached picture was taken. Future plans include an AeroForce scan gauge, new wheels after winter, and some emblem overlays from the NAIOA store. My other vehicles are a 1987 Silverado and a 1999 Silverado. Both were completely stock when I bought them and I've been making changes to them ever since. Thanks for taking a look.

Love the '99 Z71. 5.3L? My brother used to have one but it was driven more often by the people always stealing it than by him. Crying or Very sad

Welcome to the forum, lots of reading to catch up on Very Happy

Thanks for the welcome and compliments folks.

Lingenfelter: Yes, the 99 has the 5.3. I really like the balance of power and economy the LS series engines have. I would like to have one swapped into the 87 eventually.

20SS07: I'm from Lewistown, between State College and Harrisburg. About 30 miles from State College and 60 from Harrisburg. Nice to hear from a fellow PA member.

Gotcha, I know where that is. Always nice to see another fellow PA'er as well, even though I don't have an Impala anymore haha.

What's currently in the 87? A 350?

The 87 has the original TBI 305 with a wimpy 2.73 rear gear. Feels really lame compared to a 5.3 with 3.73s. I'm planning on having a 350 with a mild cam, vortec heads, custom chip, and some other upgrades built for it in the spring.
