One thing I loved about my grandprix is the aux was only on when the car was on, since I use it for my car charger sometimes I forget about it being plugged in and it has drained my battery before. So is there a write up or easy explanation on how to do it? Thanks...

I'd be inclined to think something is wrong with the charger (or your battery) if you are killing your battery leaving it plugged in. I've left my charging cable plugged in for days at a time without any ill effects.

I kind of wish ours turned off with the ignition as well. I like to keep my GPS plugged in and mounted to the dash, and as with most GPS if it loses power it will turn off after 30 seconds, and then turn back on when power is applied to the cigarette lighter.

Id say so, my charger has been plugged into the constant power outlet in my 300 since I bought it (almost 2 years) and the car sits for up to a month at times.

There are a lot of fuses in the panel that are only live when the key is on. Find one with a test light , cut the power wire going to the socket. run a new line from the socket to the fuse you found.

you can try and make your own relay harness that turns on the port when the ignition is on.

funny that you all want it to turn off with the car. on my 2010 jetta i changed it so it stays on with the car off. drives me nuts that i can only charge things with the car on.
