I started noticing that my car would drive like crap until it warms up so I would let it warm up. I also bought MAF cleaner as my MAF could have been the culprit. Today I had to rush (walk to where I park my car, so no autostart) and dive over. It drove like crap and sitting in the stop and go traffic it wouldn't 'catch' until i accelerated harder. Now there's a oil change light on, when it's not due (could be fluke) and the car just does not work in Drive, but it does in 2nd and kind of in 1st and 3rd. It also slugs up when turning. Bah. Rolling Eyes

the oil light is probably un-related. Check your fluid and see if it is burned

The dip stick was tinted brown towards the mid/top.. dont recall it looking like that last time.

Anywho, I'll do you guys one better and tell you what happened Monday. Car just plain wouldn't move forward, so I had to park it at the nearest lot... in reverse (which is fine, btw. lol).

After acceleration I could hear something metal spinning. clutch?

EDIT: You meant transmission fluid, right? Didn't check, but damage is done. Car will be towed tomorrow or so.

Make sure the shop you bring it to knows the flaws of the 4T65e transmissions, and make sure you get a detailed list of everything they replace along with a warranty for any work/labor they did.

Some shops are unable to do that kit because they do not have the required tools capable of installing the seals and stuff from the kit.

And those are the shops you shouldn't use...

The SureCure kit actually fixes factory issues that a straight rebuild won't

this^

without the sure cure kit, you are on borrowed time once again, as BBE said the surecure kit fixes the flaws that come with it from the factory so the trans wont eat itself

I took it to a stealership because I'm into pain. How much is the sure cure kit? I'll definitely look into it. Any other advice?

Still waiting for word.

Sounds like you may have the same thing I have. The p1811 won't set the engine light. To replace the pcs the side cover comes off, the boost valve is in the valve body same as the pcs, so the pump has to come off and the vavle body comes off.

I agree with getting the sure cure kit (boost valve) fixed. Some have had luck with dropping the pan and cleaning up the 1-2, 2-3 accumulator bores with a scotch brite pad and adding a transgo shift kit.

The Sure Cure kit was included in the price of my trans rebuild. Additional advice, don't get a transmission from the dealer. It'll be a rebuild with all the intrinsic flaws still in place. I believe Arvetus is on his fourth or fifth GM reman transmission...

Apparently tranny fluid was black as old oil. Long story short and $3500 later I'm getting a new transmission and apparently a (CV?) boot asploded somewhere along the lines. I think I saw the grease of this when I was replacing my tire (which also asploded) but forgot. Meh.

I am really surprised you didn't go and see Dave from TEP (seems like your pretty close to Fort Wayne), but I guess the tow bill would have been higher. I would have issues with paying that much for a transmission that I know has the same inherient problems as the one that is currently in the car.
