Just curious if anyone has a guestimate of what the cost would be to get a 2000-2005 style SS engine from a car boneyard and swap it with my LS engine - please factor in what labour might cost for this, as I can do my own oil change but am nowhere near mechanically inclined enough to swap engines Wink.

To entertain the idea, what would I be looking at? Assuming this would be cheaper than buying a supercharger and then having to upgrade stuff like pistons, pulleys, etc to handle the extra power.

Thanks for any info !!

Read and learn: http://www.naioa.com/v2/module.....mp;t=35196

My opinion: unless you can do everything yourself, don't even consider it

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you wanted to go from a 3400 to a 3800 SC. Ignore the link I posted, that's more involved than what you would need to do. However my advice still stands if you can't do the work yourself, it's not worth dong.

I may be helping him with this. Pm-ed him and giving him all the threads and everything on swaps and getting him up to speed so he can decide what he wants to do. Twisted Evil

00impala123 isnt too far from my area and may be able to help Smile

Anyway its fun to look into, thanks for the info guys!

Grimm - Thank you for that link especially - this seems like the application I need for mine, and it doesnt seem as impossible as I thought. Very Happy
