...for the second time, after a heavy rain,my passenger side floorboard has been flooded. The windows were all the way up and the door was closed.I discovered it both times just before leaving for work,so I couldn't research it in depth at that time.I managed to dry it out considerably with towels before I left, and upon returning home placed a box fan on seat/dash overnight the first time drying it out with no obvious problem...smell or otherwise.Fan is blowing on it as I type as this morning was the second mishap.

The car has only 27K on it,weatherstripping, windshield seem perfect.
I do have a lot of trees/leaves/pine needles falling in my driveway/front yard...could something be clogged under the hood/cowl to cause this?

It's only the lowest portion of the floorboard that seemingly gets wet,so I'm kinda stumped.I'm going do dig into it shortly, but would love any ideas/suggestions.

Thank you very much for any feedback...

Get the $3 permanent fix and be done with it.

I've had the same problem and used the $3 part w/o a problem. There was a thread started pertaining water on passenger floor. I'll try looking for it.

Thanx you guys, that certainly looks like the fix. I recently changed the cabin air filter,so could I have reinstalled stuff a bit off,or is this a seemingly known issue?

Thanx a lot for your quick replies.

The seal can loosen or pop off at any time, but fiddling with it probably increases the odds of it loosening off.

This is a pretty common issue.

That's the best three bucks you can spend on these cars.

Since I've done this fix haven't had any problems with water on the passenger floor. From what I understand is the problem with the rubber seal. Should take no more than 30 min to repair.

Call up your local parts department and ask them if they have it in stock. If not, ask them to order one and go in a few days later and pick it up.

Thanx again for your quick help, fellas. Awesome info for a cheap fix...and a pain in the ass.

So the next time I change the cabin filter I guess I should add another $4 into the budget for another one of these so-called deflectors/seal/whatever,huh?

Ridiculous

Mad

edit; Should I now be concerned about my current cabin filter? Is that where the water is actually getting in?

thanx
