I am removing my stock LS cluster to send to bbengineer for an led upgrade. My question is can I remove the cluster and still drive the vehicle? I have a spare cluster @ home that I will install temporarily until my upgraded cluster arrives but I want to ship today on my lunch break...especially because the ups store is across the street from my job Wink

The car will run fine without the cluster. Are you giving BBE an estimate of the milage you will put on the car before reinstalling the cluster?

Not doing so means that you would be comitting odometer fraud. I think BBE has an agreement that you have to sign anyway, covering this.

No he didnt say anything about the mileage when i spoke through email. Dont know if he needs that info but i am sure it will be figured out. Thanks for the heads up. If need be i will just not drive the car at all until i get the cluster back.

A link on his website in the Cluster section will take you to the following link:

It has to be completed before He'll do any work: it's not a big deal to fill out, but it's for his protection.

http://www.bbengineer.com/down.....laimer.pdf

You just have to figure out how many miles you're going to put on the car before you get the cluster back in, so that the odometer doesn't misrepresent the age of the car (for warranty, insurance, resale purposes).

That just gave me an idea: I never plan on ridding myself from my Impala, so do you think that BBBenginner could program my cluster to 700,000 miles? I'm @ 130k now, and there will be a time when a replacement engine will have to be installed

I pm'd bbengineer about this and he said that i wasnt required to fill one out unless i was reprogramming it which is an additionl charge lol
On another note....i put in the spare LS cluster i got from the junkyard and all the lights are burned out ( lol ) and apparently this impala had 251,752 mi on when it was wrecked. Thats ALOT of miles.
