I am having a problem with the control knob on the dash that switches the vent air from blowing from the floor to def or forward on the dash. I think it is not working because of a loss of vacuum. I tried tracing the vacuum hose to where it connects to the fire wall and have not been able to find it. I did find a rubber boot attached to a tube that is about 1/2" in diameter on the firewall. The rubber boot is a 90 degree shape and it looks like the vac hose has been ripped off of the bottom of it. I can't find where the other end of the hose would be connected to the intake. Can anyone help? thanks

I think the hose you found is the evaporator drain elbow. It doesn't connect to anything.
