2003 LS Sport
I had a remote start/lock-unlock/trunk unlock unit installed this last summer. The brand was a Crime Stopper. All of the functions worked, however it had problems from the day it was installed. The Check Engine light came on EVERY time ANY remote functions were used and the ignition switch started to have a "delay" in starting when the key was used. The audio shop that did the install replaced the Bypass unit thinking it had failed although that didn't take care of the issue. I finally had the unit taken out and got my money back.
At this point, I'm a little gun shy to give the remote start another try but I would really like to have it for the winter. Can anyone recommend a "tried and true" unit?

Myself and a couple other members have used the Viper 5900 or 7900 series. It does require a piggyback module of some sort.

I installed a 996a in mine.

It's a fairly complex install and if done a bit wrong I know it will throw stuff out of wack.

I bypassed the pass key completely.
