I'm 99 percent sure I have a bad BCM, but being new to these cars, I wanted to offer my diagnosis for a second (or third, or fourth...) opinion:
2002 9c1. The security light intermittently comes on when driving, but it never failed to start or did anything else odd.
Today, I went out to start it, and the chime just kept dinging. Turning the key got nothing at all. I thought the battery was dead, but then remembered the infamous BCM issue. The trunk kept popping itself, and it kept chiming. Unplugging the negative cable then reconnecting it brought everything back to normal, I drove away without incident. It drove relatively normal except for some odd dimming of the dash by itself.
Once home, I parked it- and it popped the trunk over and over and over again. Headlights/taillights flashing on their own. I gave up and unplugged the battery- once I plugged it back in, it's fine except for the Security light.
I'm planning on swapping the BCM tomorrow, and from what I've heard, I'll need my friend with a Tech2 to program it for me.
