What's up with these cheapo looking battery terminals on the SS? Are they the same on all 06+ models? I'm looking at them trying to figure out how they work. Is there some special tool that clamps it tight while the nut is tightened. Since the nut is on top instead of the side, I really don't see how it puts pressure on to clamp it to the post.

These terminals are a joke. When I replaced the battery in my Imp, I had to use a lead spacer around the battery post to get the terminal to tighten enough to hold. The top nut system with the eccentric sucks! Next time I'm going to replace the terminals with old style on the wires, maybe do it this week anyway now that I'm thinking about it. Rolling Eyes

What you have pictured is a junkie bogus connection. Make it a true post mount connection. GM should be a side post screw type usually. Cool

That is the factory terminal on a top post for the 06+ Impala. Side mount on my old Grand Am was much easier to deal with!
