Today car sat facing west all day in the sun and by days end (3:30pm) the outside temp was 80 degrees F or thereabouts.
During the drive home, approx 7-8 miles through town temp indicated by Driver Information Center (DIC) read 56 degrees F all the way home. I have noticed that it has been fairly innaccurate recently, mostly with the warmup days. Can anyone provide some insight on this topic? In the manual all I could find about calibrating was for the compass feature. Can the temp be calibrated?
Thank you to all who read and to those who respond!

Roger

I had this issue last night when I went out at around 11:30pm. It was clearly cold outside (could see your breath) and the DIC was showing 88* which obviously was incorrect. The ambient temperature sensor is probably going bad.

I wonder if there is a check for that...
It's my understanding that it is located somewhere near or behind the radiator support?

I believe if you get under the front of the car and look behind the bumper, centered to the car, you should see it. It looks like a harness with an unplugged connector. The connector will be sealed. That SHOULD be the sensor.
