I saw a photo once where some one had wrapped (daisychain style) all of the preouts of a Pioneer Avic unit with a small gauge copper wire which was the run to ground. it might make more sense to you if you could see the picture but I don't recall where I may have seen that photo. A great source of info for your u nit can be found at AVIC411.com. That may even be where I saw the photo!
Good Luck!

Edit: Found the photo!

I don't know if the whine from your AVIC is the same as the whine I get out of mine, but mine sounded just like yours until I did the wire wrap in the post above mine. It didn't eliminate it, but it made it much more manageable.

Would it still work if my rca's are extending from the back of my unit about 4-5 inches? They arent directly on the back.

There is a certain type of fuse in some of pioneer headunits (pica fuse or something..I can comment further when I am a little bit more sober lol)

I know there was someone here that posted a link at one point on how 2 replace this fuse inside the headunit. I'll help out more tmrw

True that about the pica fuse.
Yes the rca grounding will still work on pigtails whilst photo shows grounding back to head unit.

Ok i will try it. I am actually a member on avic411.com. How small should the speaker wires be to ground it? And as the pic suggested do i ground it onto the unit or at leats my avic unit?

Small gauge is sufficient, say, 18-24g. Yes it is my understanding that grounding rca's back to unit is proper but it should be noted that an added measure of security against noise is that the unit is adequately grounded as well. Not just the black grounding lead but the radio chassis to ground also.

Wow, props to you. I had this issue with my Kenwood about a month ago. Drove me insane for the two days I had to deal with it. I had to wrap my RCA's the same way and ground it to the headunit as well. Also fixed some of the static I had when the volume was turned all the way down.
