I just noticed that the bushings on both these parts are harder than rubber, more like a dense plastic and they seem to be warped so I purchased a new set of each. I will be replacing them this weekend and before doing so, had a few silly questions.
1) Are they a pain to remove without air tools? 2) Is there anything special I should be aware of while changing them such as 'use a small coat of grease prior to installing this' or 'don't do this before doing that'.
The only thing I'm aware of is to do them one at a time or risk having the engine misaligned.
I installed them on Saturday successfully without much trouble. Despite taking them off one at a time, I still needed a second person to hold the engine forward while I connected the bolts. It's a good thing I changed them as the bushings were completely cracked inside the brackets.
Even though the vehicle handles bumps and dips better, I still hear random popping sounds during driving or when I put the transmission in gear but it's probably either worn suspension or something else.
