Anyone have an issue with the Gen III supercharger (chrome on the turbines) pealing off? I wonder where the chrome went...lol...my motor cratered and haven't torn into it yet, I do have oil in the top end of my engine, on the IC. I will get some pictures up here, but until then any suggestions or feedback??

Its not actually chrome but teflon. They peel over time or the more heavily you run your car over time.

My turbines are right down to bare metal in sections, so then I should buy new turbines or do I have to replace the whole supercharger? I don't see any aftermarket suppliers with turbines, are there any for sale.

Yea thats not good for supercharger performance. No need to replace the entire supercharger. You can just replace the supercharger rotors. I have an excellent rotor pack for sale $50 shipped. If your interested and want pics let me know.

Yea you should post pics so we can see how much teflon is left on the rotors or was removed. But ya car will still drive and perform fine though. Its just your supercharger will get hotter than normal.

When the coating wears off, the charger won't create as much boost. Heat is a byproduct of the added friction caused by the missing teflon coating.

Someone on GPForums had them recoated with some blue sealant. You should ask around over there. It's probably more expensive but if you are in love with the car, you might want to spend the extra coin.

I will consider that depending of difficulty finding someone to do that and cost including shipping.

I do love my car enough to purchase a rebuilt, painted and ported supercharger....if Its not feasible to do the above mentioned!
