Well my mirror went t*ts up. It got an air bubble... lol I didn't realize these mirrors were filled with a liquid! Shocked I bought an flip style mirror to replace it. Now My issue is I don't have a Dome light and the wiring is dangling. Has anyone else had their auto dim mirrors go out? I'm thinking if i can figure out what wires power the lights on the clip I can tap into those and rig something up. Any info could help. Thanks!

Mine isn't "out", but it turns a dark green when the autodimming function comes on, it's actually quite funny. Still works, it's just green instead of darker

This may be an option for you?

Thats how it started for me, and I lived with it for a while, then it moved to the lower left corner, and then yesterday it had moved right to the middle of the mirror. About 3/4 inch high and like 4 inches across. I tried to drive with it but it was highly annoying. So I replaced it with a old style flip mirror. But now I need to figure out how to rig up a dome light, and get rid off the dangling wires.

If you have a bubble replace it right away.

I actually am on my 3rd mirror because of this. If any of that liquid leaks it will ruin whatever it falls on.

I just keep replacing them with used parts from Morad. I've noticed keeping my windows cracked (thank you rain guards) has prevented this from happening in the summer now.

what kind of liquid is in these things? I like the flip style mirror better i think anyways. Another question i have is, did the 9c1's have the bulky auto dim mirror with map lights, or did it actually have a dome light?

So back to the question. Does anyone know which wires that plug into the mirror power the lights? I could rig something nice, if i could tap into those wires. I believe there are five wires, I believe the middle one is blue?.?. Maybe the blue one is for the mirror sensor, and the two outer wires correspond to the light on either side??? Maybe? Thanks!
