Got to replace my Lower intake manifold gaskets this weekend, and know that felpro brand is the best choice. Was checking around and can't figure out whats the difference in these three? Can see 1 and 3 are the same, but the prenum set?
Also, does anyone know where to get the supercharger gasket? And the torque settings for the supercharger bolts. 3.8 s/c
thanks kp_432

The second link you posted is the UIM gasket for the non supercharged cars...idk what car the 3rd one is, the first one is the LIM gasket.

FYI, autozone and whatever has them in stock or next day. Also pick up the coolant elbows....go up to the HOW TO section here and there is a complete write up on doing this including the tourqe specs.

If you don't need the parts right away, get them from Amazon. You'll save a ton of money that way, but you need to wait a bit to get the parts.

Ya its just a good idea to have em on hand. A lot of people crack them taking them off. Just saves ya a trip if you happen too. I didnt break mine but replaced them while i was there anyways

I'd also recommend grabbing a set of O-ring picks. They made getting the stupid o-rings off the fuel injectors much easier and also helped me pulled out the busted coolant elbow from the LIM on my Intrigue. I got a set similar to this for 7 bucks or so at Autozone.

New here because I picked up my Impala because of the LIM leaking.

Replaced the complete gasket set that I bought directly from GM. It also came with new bolts that had a loctite style compound on the threads, and various metal pucks impregnated in the gaskets so that if you over-torque them the gasket does not squish out and break and leak etc.

The complete set with the new bolts cost me $60.

The job took me ~6 hours, but I did it outside in the driveway and took some time fetching tools and making sure pushrods were in order etc.

NO MORE LEAKS !!!

Even though the car is a 2001, I cannot believe how good it drives and the great fuel economy.

I sell 'em new and they are fine cars. I show customers my '01 and the odometer and explain the repairs that have been made on the car since new.

I rarely lose a sale.

I've had mine about 3 months now, 05 3.8LS. I love it. I didn't realize they are regarded as a piece of ^%$# by some, as you would read about on here. I'm hoping that routine maintenance will help it's life. Happy motoring. Cool

Like people that have w-bodies for the better part of a decade? Most of the folks that look poorly on these vehicles have valid reasons, myself include...
