Ok so I just dropped the 2nd new motor in my impala ss and im so tired of dealing with crap on this car im ready to get rid of it..... It has a little over 109k miles on it and the new motor has about 150 so far....I noticed some scratches on the rear bumper cover when it got back from the mechanic this time and things like that are just pushing me over the edge....

What Im wondering is how much this car is worth......Spent 4k putting in the first brand new long block and when it went out a 3k miles the company wouldnt back thier warranty so had to buy another long block at cost from them which cost another 1600 before the 400 more on labor....I dont expect to get that money back by selling it Im just ready for a different car.

Any opinions on about what its worth or anyone looking to buy?

no offense, but...why did u buy another motor from them if they wouldn't back their warranty on the first one? I would have said screw you guys and went somewhere else, or gotten a low mileage block from a newer car (could always do a L26 and throw your top end on)

Also keep in mind, just cause you spent a lot of money repairing it doesn't make it worth more.

That said:

I would expect to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-11k for it. I also haven't seen the condition, and idk about your trans situation (wether it is in good condition or not) etc, etc. but ballpark it somewhere between 8 and 11....likely closer to 9500 or 10000..

No trans problems.....The new motor seems to be doing ok.....But to be honest if I could get 10k for it I would send it down the road.....Probly use the money to pick up a ws6 or something like that. I just have a hatred for this car at this point.... If someone really ends up being interested in it I will get some pics up of it.

Ya KBB value was in the neighborhood of 8600 but with a new motor, you could probably pull more out of it selling it privatley

I actually believe that having a replaced motor will decrease the value. Does this engine have a full transferrable warranty??

I don't know for sure. I would have to ask.

I figure once you get into major components being replaced, potential buyers become wary. I wouldn't expect to see 10 from the car, but that's just me.

Clean 2004 Indy SS w/30,000 miles on it is posted at 10,500 in Sarnia (minutes from Michigan) http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Che.....101005070/

They're listed as high as 14k and as low as 5k nationally in the US.

Given that the shop didn't stand up on the original 4000 dollars worth of work for the original client, I would presume warranty service to a future owner would be entirely absent.

^^ This. I wouldn't be real interested in the car even myself due to that fact.

Damn that was a nice price for the miles. Of course I don't see it in following the link, wonder if it sold already.
