Hasn't let me down yet. I tend on keeping it until it falls apart completely.

It isn't broken, so why bother getting rid of it?

Yes, a lot of people are buying a second car to have something more entertaining to drive and keeping the w-body cars as beaters.

I still drive mine, but I've downsized my second-car goals from a Lotus Elise to possibly a Miata, a 600 or 650 Sport bike, and maybe a WRX.

I drive my car daily, give her a daily beating as well. The body of the car will probably go another 7-8 years easily if I keep it maintained the way I do now. Drivetrain wise, motor is solid and so is the transmission, but as everyone knows a 4t65e will fail whenever it wants. My 01 will be hitting 120k within the next month and still running strong. I plan on keeping her until I at least get out of college. It will be a sad day when I say bye to her.

I'm the same way. I just reached 100K and I've spent $2,467 in the past six months on the car just keeping it up/and or running and another 2K in tires, shocks, brakes, etc.. The whenever something gives out that's gonna cost more than $900, the car is gone. It has had a full life and the best driver it can have. I'm really itching to get my hands on a 96 impala ss or a firebird Smile
