so im done with the quad tails, finally.... now im looking for reverse lights. Ive been looking at the c5 vette lights that imp has but they only come with the licence plate filler or whatever its called. Is there any way to get just the light housing or do I have to buy the whole assembly and some how glue/screw it to the bumper?

It's a single molded piece and they are a little large for the license plate opening on the Impala...

so whats required to get it to fit, other than putting holes in bumper for housings? just a dremel and some trimming and glue, or is there more to it? Not really a big fan of those talon lights so im trying to avoid those things...

No idea what it is going to take to make it fit and look good... I didn't go down that path because I didn't like the proportions, hence the Talon lights

Are you talking about this thread?

If so, I don't think he made them look good, so I don't think whatever technique he used is the right choice...

I have the Corvette plate and was going to actually do the Corvette reverse lights originally (even before anyone else did quad tails), but when I laid the plate on the Impala, I didn't like the way it looked at all... and after seeing Imp's install, I was very glad I didn't go that route

Ya not 100% satisfied with how it looks but still not sold on the small talon lights. Those seem like the easiest install wise from what ive read though. Ive also looked at 2000-05 monte carlo reverse lights as well... dont know about those looks wise either...

I have the C5 reverse lamps and plate on my car, and in my opinion it looks like it was factory

I just removed my plate, held the lamps in place, traced, cut with dremel and removed some of the impact foam and screwed it into place

Yea, I'll try in the next few days when I get some time.. but another thing is you would need to update your reverse lamp sockets to C5 because ours are too small, I got lucky cause my uncle that has an 03 Corvette found a local part out that was smashed in the front.. Guy already sold the lamps and just clipped off the sockets and gave them to me for free... otherwise the cheapest I could find new are $40 a piece

I really wanted the c5 look

Ya I can't find anything Corvette around here... Searched junk yards and every time they ask and what type of vehicle I say Corvette... There's and short pause and tell me they have nothing for that type of vehicle lol. Wonder how much those would cost from the dealer? I can get the whole reverse light assembly for $110. guess ill wait till I see your pictures to decide
