OK, I have done the research, know what I want, should be doing it in the next 6 weeks.
Now, in looking at my headlights I see that one low beam has the hood/shield over the end of the bulb the other low beam does not. Was like this when I bought the car.
Do I need that shield with HID's? Do I get one or remove the one I have?
Thanks? Cool

What beam are you looking to put the HIDs into?

Oh, my bad. I overlooked it really quick. I thought you were comparing your low beam with the shield to your highbeam which doesn't have a shield. i'm not sure why one low beam has a shield and the other does not, was probably replaced at one time with an 04+ housing that weren't manufactured with the shields.

Not necessarily. My DDMTuning HID's are 55w 5000k and are aimed properly. At midnight I parked my car in the middle of the road and drove my dad's car towards mine, and was not blinded at all. Most people will just put the HIDs in and not have the headlights re-adjusted properly which leads to people being blinded. I hate when people do that s**t.

My point is HID in oem housings aren't that great to begin with, I don't think that little cover will matter much. Laughing

Look how much stray light there is compared to a s**t ebay Projector.. 80

. Laughing

technically to aim them so they don't blind people, your actually aiming them tooo low, cuasing excess foreground light and shrinking the distance they light up.

True. I always have my driver side headlight aimed down more than the passenger side out of simple courtesy. I hated when I had my projectors. The sharp cut off line was nice, but it was PITCH black anything above the line......i hated that.

I love it, especialy with my HID Retrofit. if they are aimed properly they light up far enough that U dont notice the cutoff unless your behind a car at a light.

I guess I just had a bad experience with my eBay projectors. :/ Oh well. I think I should send you one of my old housings and have you retrofit those for me? Very Happy
