So me and my wife stopped to get gas the other night, and she stepped out when i was refueling and said that the fumes in the car were horrible so i finished and when i sat in the car they were. I've noticed it slightly a few times after a fill up but this was by far the worst. So we rode with the windows down to eliminate the fumes after that all is fine. This problem only occurs at fill ups none while driving.

Any suggestions?

I have no idea what the problem is, but I'd probably take it to a shop. Fuel vapors aren't something you really want to be be messing with.

Light a match, that will tell you where it is coming from.

(By no means do what I suggested, it was a joke.)

I had a similar problem, but it would be all the time.
I eventually took it to the dealership and they finally found a hole in the top of the gas tank. Apparently the tech at Best Buy, while installing an aftermarket amp, drilled a hole through my floorboard straight into the gas tank.

Im not sure if this helps you but that might be the first thing Id check. See if there are any holes in your filler tube that runs to your gas tank. Or maybe somewhere on the tank that would allow it to fume and not leak. 2 Cents

Good luck with this!
I know it drove me crazy and could have done some serious damage to me if Id have passed out while driving.

Get under the car after you drive it around with a full tank and see if you can spot where the fuel leak is coming from.

Always have someone else around when you are working under the car, particularly with the fuel system. Safety first!
