Got a set of Wearever rotors and gold pads from Advance for $80...paid my buddy at Allen Tire to put 'em on for $110. I thought that was a fairly good deal overall.

Just wondering what you thought about the price and the parts themselves.

Thanx

*Finally got power and internet back last night...thanx Irene. Mad

think i should start doing brakes then lol. but i dont see it taking more than 1/2 hour to change the rotors and pads nothing to it. 110 for that little work plus your 80 for parts. Now granted I know the dealership wanted 400 to change my mom moms brakes but I could get the parts for less than a quarter of that so I did it for her

Well,i threw my friend a bone since he got me the price on the parts that I could not have got myself. I was out yesterday, and it needed to be done...I could have done the job myself, but most of the necessary tools were at work...I wasn't goin' there. lol

110 bucks to replace two rotors for a friend? That's ridiculous, IMO. Also 80 bucks for the rotors was the best price he could get for some Autozone house brand. Hell, I can get Centric Standard rotors for the Monte Carlo delivered to my door for 60 bucks. Call me cheap, but I think you got hosed.

My buddy at Allen Tire would no longer be my buddy. Find new friends. Cool

I understand your point of view, but as I said,I threw him a bone...too big of one apparently...part of the $110 was a 50-spot basically as a tip. He was not charging me $110 from jump. This is not the first time I've dealt with him,and won't be the last...all of that comes out in the wash.I paid the price for convenience,w/o getting stuck with my car jacked up on my gravel driveway and not having exactly what I needed on hand to complete the job in a timely fashion.

Anyway,I'd rather you guys trash me on the price of the parts, which I still don't believe was bad at all....

Thanx for the feedback...I would certainly have expected,no matter what,at least one "glad you got it fixed" reply.

Hey man, glad you got it fixed. It sure is a nice feeling to go from a madly pulsing brake pedal to a nice, smooth, quiet stop.
