You guys might like this one...

I was sitting at the locals Sams Club (which is like a Walmart). I was waiting in the parking lot in my car. Well a car parks in the spot beside my car and a lady proceeds to get out. Well she was slightly larger and her door smashes into the side of my car right above the left rear tire. I opened the door and she was say "im sorry im sorry". I then was like do you have insurance and her being the passenger goes no then i looked at the driver and asked her the same thing and she proceeded to tell me that she didnt do and she isnt responsible for it. Then i said yes you are, her being your passenger makes her your liability and let me see your insurance. Well they decided to be uncooperative and they said we are going inside before this escalates any further. So i didnt feel like it was needed that i call the cops for a door ding. I backed up my car and moved in across the parking lot. As i backed up i snaped a picture of the car and the license plate and all. Later this afternoon i went down to the police station and showed them a picture and filed a police report. So we will see what happens with that. I told the officer that i asked twice for their insurance info and that they didnt want to provide it to me. So we will see where this goes. After i get enough door dings all over my car when i catch someone in the act im going to say something.

Are we talking just a tap or a full out assault with a car door here?

I was sitting there listening to music and i heard it over the music.. Plus she was big and i was watching in my mirror. Her weight shifted and the door went into my car with a decent amount of force i guess you could say.

I say it's your fault and you're lucky she doesn't sue you for sexual harassment. You just admitted to checking her out in your mirror. She could probably feel your burning stare right in that giant ass of hers. It's probably what made her weight shift, causing her to bump the door into your car. See, it's all your fault. You need to learn how to control your urges.

I was sitting in my Pontiac many years ago in a shopping center parking lot waiting for a friend to return from one of the stores. While sitting there a lady parked beside me and opened her door and banged it into mine. As she continued trying to remove her large body from her car, she again banged her door into mine.

I sounded my horn and she then yelled, "Oh be quiet buddy, my car is newer than yours".

People suck... I might have done something a bit different, if she dont care about her car and has no insurance I might have gave her car a couple of dings in return and say well I dont have any insurance either. I hope they atleast give her a ticket for leaving the scene and no insurance. And if all else fails theres small clains court .
Is there a dent?

Around here, parking lots are joint liability in the event of any incident, unless the offending individual is proven to be clearly at fault.

Even if one driver is clearly at fault, the police generally do not get involved unless the situation escalates to violence or intentional property damage, since it generally occurs on private property (ie parking lots).

I was literally laughing at this. Too funny, but too true.

guilty of that in a previous lifetime (my misspent yute). opened my door and a stiff breeze caught it, sending it into the car next to me who happened to have a person who just got out of his car. fortunately, my car was far enough away that all i did was scuff the rubrail on his door. "watch what the f*** you're doing, jacka**!!" was what i got from the grumbling owner. okay. fine. after my shopping trip ended and zippy's car was still parked next to me, he got a couple of jacka** kicks to the quarter panel. i feel bad about that now, but it was either a fistfight or a few dents. since then, i have had a couple of minor incidents like that, and have left contact information on the windshield for the owner. never heard anything from it, though. peace, john

My buddy has had these types of issues a lot...and I like his solutions...

One time, someone parked so close to him he couldn't even open his door part way, so after crawling through the passenger side he rolled down his window, punched off the other cars mirror and drove away. lol

Another time he was backed into a spot and the person behind him parked so that their bumper was literally touching my friends bumper..so he very politely pulled forward (this is his old blazer beater he was driving btw) about 2 or 3 feet, put it in reverse and slammed into their bumped before driving away.

It's all about the bubble wrap. Tape it over the bumper so when you hit the other car, there is no transfer of paint.....lol Then when you get home burn the bubble wrap....You know, CSI stuff.
