Hi guys, was browsing around craigslist this afternoon and came across someone who posted a 2007 Impala SS catback dual exhaust for $65 just about 20 minutes from me. The listing was from 8/7/2011 but I e-mailed him anyway to see if he still has it. I'm going to see if he'd be willing to take $50 for it. If the person who has done it before can stop in here, show yourself! I know someone has done it, but I wanna hear how it sounds again to try and convince my parents! Very Happy

Thanks!

This may help, I have an 04 SS exhaust on an 06 LS. It bolted up fine, you need an extra hanger for the drivers side. The 07 SS may sit a bit higher and need cutouts in the rear, on my car the exhaust sits about 1/4 inch below the rear valance, doesn't hurt to look at it and try a dry fit! Luck Very Happy

alright cool thanks for the input. I know someone has a 06+ SS dual exhaust on their 00-05 LS and all they needed was a hangar for the driver side so imma wait for him to chime in

Awesome, I explained to my dad that all we need is the driver side hangar and it will bolt right up. Being that my exhaust is rusted to death this should be a nice upgrade, and not have to worry about a rusted resonator any more! Where can I pick up a driver side hangar?

Cool, I may take a ride to a junkyard and grab one. You know the size of the bolts by any chance? Any W-Body with dual exhaust hangers will work?

Did the guy email you back? Thats a good deal. I would buy it just for the pipes and put flowmasters. I am curious to see what it sounds like too.

Yea probably, but it doesn't have to be duals... the bolt size would compare to the tap size you use.. I just used the tap and bolts I had left over from my 9C1 caps

Yup, we've been e-mailing back and forth since yesterday, he even sent me pictures.

Here's the pics he sent! Seems to be in good shape.

Will be a nice upgrade to my stock exhaust, looks and sound hopefully.

Looks good, I would consider paintin it silver with engine paint, might make it last longer. Thats what I would do anyway. I rarely find anything on CList for impalas in my area except for rims. Good find Cool

Yea that's the exact same setup I got... my resonator was rotting out an had a horrible whistle to it, then I found the exhaust on Craigslist... I just took a wire brush to the back of the mufflers because that's the only thing you will see once installed, an polished up the tips with baking soda, water and a brillo pad... looks brand new

@albert2kls - sounds like a good idea....silver engine block enamel or whatever? that high heat stuff.. and yeah I never really find stuff for impalas on CL either. I typed in impala in the search and this was on the first page, glad I found it! I'm excited haha

never tried it with the resonator, but without its louder definitely noticeable. i dont think it has much drone at all either.
Here is another video after the seafoam, when i let off the that aweful noise that almost sound like rasp is the exhaust shield rattling against the catback...

EDIT: IN CAR working link
