Started about an hour ago on the way home for work..Accelerated up to about 40 and let off the gas to coast the 1/2 a mile left but I hear this clunk.from what i read Sounds like the Iss but when i brake it doesnt clunk, and when i accelerate it doesnt clunk All the threads ive read get clunking with these two actions, But mine stops. Also doesnt do it when im turning right but does when i turn left. quick easy fix plzz!! also no vibration in the steering wheel.
as long as im on the gas (even a tad) or braking i hear nothing. any coast its a constant knock that goes with the speed im going as if somethings loose. i checked and see nothing hanging or out of place.
Not directly with the transmission, its the axel that connects the transmission to the hub/wheel assembly. Not too hard to change. But check first by turning the wheel all the way to one side and look for the green or sometimes black grease as mentioned above. Repeat on the other side. The side that has the grease is the side that is bad.

Mine clunks from a dead stop everytime it rains. Once I am rolling, not a sound. Just yesterday I went underneath her and found nothing I could see wrong. Rained today and nothing but clunk, clunk everytime I start to move. This car has the most challenging suspension I've ever owned.
I'd also check the brake calipers... make sure they're tight and don't move when you wiggle on them. I had a car that had some bushings go bad and that caliper had just enough play in it to make some noise...
