I have a 2GB mem card on my Blackberry Bold.. The phone fell off of my bike and was run over by a few cars.. I found it and plugged it up and pulled off all the info off of the phone. I apparently encrypted the memory card and it wont show the files on it on the new phone i got. Any tips on how to get around this problem and get the files off of the memory card?

You specifically encrypted the memory card? If that's the case, good luck, because they won't be able to be read without the original blackberry that set the encryption. Sad

The only solution I can think of is booting up the Bold if you can with the memory card still in it and mounting it to Windows...if that doesn't work, you'd have to decrypt the card first.

The only encryption that i think i set on it was when i put a password lock on my phone.

I also was told by a buddy that helps me with my computer problems that if i have the SD card in the bold that i broke and i reset/delete everything with BB Desktop Software that i should be able to use it on another phone.. Does anyone know how true that is?

You should be able to plug it into a memory card reader on a computer which will be able to at minimum format it. Formatting it will allow you to use it with something else.

Try the Crackberry.com forums before you reformat the card. They might be able to help you.

I usually hit them up when I have a problem with my Torch.

Hmm okay. I ordered a new screen for it off the internet. I think im going to try to rebuild it and keep it as a backup or sell it to someone.
