I have a 2001 Pontiac(same ignition as my impala) The cylinder was acting up, i replaced it and i removed the "transmission shift link" I can't put the cable back and now the key won't turn...(cause it thinks it's still in park) any way to make the shift link get bank into the module?

IIRC, you really have to shove that sucker back into place. Took me a few minutes to figure it out when I replaced the switch in my Monte Carlo.
