So I got to borrow a buffer and I have questions on how to use it to get the best results. It's only one speed, 3300rpm without a load. And it only has one bonnet thing. Basically, do I put the polish on the buffer, or the car, and how much do I use? And how should I move it around? Back and forth, circling, criss cross, etc. I'm guessing to never leave it in one spot. How long is ok to go on that one bonnet before taking it off and washing and drying it? Can I go the whole car polish, then wash it (bonnet), then wax it? To do many coats of waxing, I can just keep doing it the same way after it has dried?

Go with a random orbital polisher. Griots garage has a good one. You can get ig online with pads and polish kit for under 200. Does an awesome job

What he said!

Basically, you don't have enough pads to do anything. Polishing will take a couple pads or more. Waxing can be done with 1 and in most cases, if you polish well enough, you can apply a good wax by hand.

Also, I wouldn't use a machine that doesn't let you vary the speed.
