Has anyone done it i just want an idea of how tacky it would look... i have an extra set of focal 6.5 components and been thinking about how i could stuff them into my front doors somewhere i was thinking between the existing speaker and the arm rest where the window controls are but i think it would look wierd

I've always wanted to build a fiberglass thing that would start where the normal speakers are and go almost straight up, angled a little back. You can sell me them along with the boston's

I hate to break it to you, but adding any extra speakers to the door is going to stick out like a sore thumb. There really isn't any way to get around that issue. The problem is you most likely would need to fiberglass most (if not all of the panel) because there just isn't room to cut and add another speaker to the door, so you need to build the panel outward.

Appears that you have a base impala, so you could do something similar to what 7jezuz7 did over on DSBP.

Heres a link to what he did;

http://downsouthbassproduction.....Bsomething

might have to be a member to view everything though.

and heres a picture of his final product. You could do the speakers on the side but If you did it right I think it would be pretty cool.

^^^ While that's a very cool project, I don't think it fits his desire to have it not stick out like a sore thumb.

I had an F-100 in high school. To add speakers to it, my dad and I removed the factory door trim panels and replaced them with some home made units made from wafer board. Included in that were speaker housings positioned over the stock speaker holes. I can't tell you the number of times I banged my knee on them getting into the truck. Having something sticking out like that was a good lesson in ergonomics and human factors engineering.
