well, not really a 'new' engine, but a 93'-95' (24502441) Vin L supercharged engine.

I have a 2001 LS, and the original engine needs a rebuild. I am currently looking at a used 3.8(see above) supposedly around 100,xxxkm. A guy is selling one for $500 and he has the wiring harness and ecu as well.

I haven't seen it in person yet, but if you guys think this is a possible swap, I will go take a look at it!

PS here is a video of my original 3.8 from a while back.

Don't waste your time swapping in a Series 1 3800. If you are going through the trouble of an engine swap track down a low mileage L32 and go from there.

I haven't looked in a quite a while, but that doesn't seem too awful for a price. Might be able to find one for less if you look long enough.

Not to mention zero aftermarket support and the engine is at least 15 years old (with all the bad seals/gaskets/o-rings that come along with the age).

Thank you for the response.

I will look at some L32 and L67 but I am trying to be cost effective more than fast. I am going to go talk to some local mechanics today as well and see if i can find something locally.

ps I looked at a local L36 a while back at a wrecker, but they wanted $850 for one with 180'000km on it Confused
