As the title says I need new struts for my car, I've been using it a lot more lately, I'll explain that later, anyway the car is close to 55K miles, and I've never replaced the struts on the impala before, I think it would be a good idea to replace the mounts too, which brand of struts do you recommend? Should I replace the springs too?

No need to replace the springs unless they are broken or saggy. Your best bet for the struts are KYB GR2s/Excel Gs (whatever they hell they are calling them now) with Monroe strut mounts.

The springs are fine, I was thinking about KYB strtuts, I've never really considered Monroe strut mounts, I thought they were crap.

I was thinking about upgrading the springs with the springs from the SS (FE4)

The ride is not as good as it used to, the 03 with about 85K miles rides smoother than the 01 with 55K Shocked

The only other real option are OEM mounts. Shoot ZPOST a PM if you want to have a heart attack when you get the price for those bad boys.

Laughing I think I'll buy the Monroe mounts instead Laughing

EDIT:

I've just checked @rockauto, and the price difference is not that much, I might buy the AC Delco ones.

IIRC, the AC Delco ones on Rock Auto (particularly the fronts) don't include everything you need and you end up buying 50 bucks more in parts per mount or something ridiculous like that. I'd send ZSPOT a PM and verify what you are getting.
