I recently bought an 01 ls with a 3.8 with 150k on the clock. It runs rough and it aomehow has jumped time. I'm changing with a used engine in the next couple of weeks. It will be a summer car not a DD but I wanted to upgrade it to the Series 3 l26. What parts will I need other than the engine ( what pieces from the l36 won't work with new engine?). I will be doing the swap myself and all info will be greatly appreciated.

Why not swap to something with boost?

150k is nothing on these engines Razz

I probably will down the line, this is my project I got it for cheap so I plan on fixing it nice. This will be my 3rd impala. All ls and 3.8s. But it cost almost as much to time it as it does to throw a new engine in. So If I can get a newer engine for cheap I think it's a better idea. But I'd like to keep it N/A and just add more power down the line
