hello forum. i changed my axles since they were making noise so i put some from carquest. they lasted less than a year and started making noise again. i recenlty put another pair and they still make noise. what could be the issue?

are you sure its the axles making noise? could be something else.

a clunking noise when i turn. the left one is the one i hear the most.

Might be the intermediate shaft clunking. GM never figured out how to make one that doesn't suck. I can't find the thread showing the procedure for lubing the ISS, but I'd say give that a try and see what happens.

Are you sure it isn't wheel bearings, if you feel it turning left could be y our right front wheel hub assembly too. Jack up the car and check the wheel for play.

If he had that much play in the wheel bearing, should be a nice howl at speed.

Could be a bad/worn out strut bearing, but that has more of a snap not a clunk.
