Keep an eye on your intake tube.

Found my intake tube bent near the IAT sensor. Kind of annoying, it was letting in unmetered air and unfiltered air. I don't have a MAF screen, so that was potentially dangerous for my car Surprised

I snapped these pictures and sent them to K&N. They are actually replacing my intake tube for free as part of the no questions asked 1,000,000 mile warranty. I commend their customer service though. It only took me an email to them with the pictures and they were willing to get me out a new intake tube.

Just keep an eye on your tubes. I know I won't have this Intake on my car much longer, but it's still nice that they will replace it for me.

I was changing my oil and noticed the gap in the coupler on the throttle body.

That's not good... but wouldn't that just be unfiltered air as it was making its way in before the MAF?

Sorry, I meant more like hot air that my IAT doesn't know about.

At least I'm getting a new tube in the mail for free!

That happened to mine too. They sent me a new filter too. I had one of the older style filters that didnt have much to clamp too, the newer style did a lot better. Had a longer rubber neck on the filter so you could move it down on the tube more. You may have the old style filter as well, thats exactly what mine looked like. I just had to send the old tube and filter back, may wanna check into that. Got mine at the begginning of 05 I believe.....

How is it unmetered when the MAF is in the TB? Any air that comes in through the intake tube will be metered. It would have to come in beyond the MAF to be unmetered.

Ooops. Iffy beat me to it.

IDK if I had the older style one. I got mine in 2008

I will see what they send me though. I think my filter is fine.
