Anybody have any idea why I don't get ANY reception of AM stations? FM reception is just fine. I have a 2005 Base model with factory amp bypassed and removed, an aftermarket head unit and 2 amps installed, the rear glass is also tinted 35%. I can detect a bit of alternator whine through the speakers while on the AM dial. The whine is not noticeable at all in FM or while listening to CD's.

AM reception sucks due to the location of the antenna.

Only possible solution is to drill and place an external antenna on the car, or go XM, which is what I did Smile

If you have the in-window antenna, make sure you connected the factory antenna enable signal to the power antenna lead on the aftermarket radio or the antenna module will not be turned on

Also, is your rear window tinted? Metallic film?

I don't know if it's metallic, I don't think so, just 35% regular film on the back glass. Where is the factory antennae enable wire? Is it in the factory radio harness? If it was I probably connected it, if it was somewhere else I probably didn't.

Make sure pin B3 (white) on the bigger radio connector is connected to something on the scoshe harness and make sure that it has 12V when the radio is on
