Well, my birthday is coming up, and I can't decide what I want.
If you guys had 200ish bucks to spend right now on your car, what would you get!?
Some ideas I had were some sound deadening, maybe LED SS cluster, DC level 4, remote start, or grill?

What I already have for my 00 ls;

Tinted Windows
FWI
Amp
HU
IA 15
LED interior lighting
HIDs
Big 3 0 gauge runs
Crappy Tinted tailights

To be honest, i'm in the air. I want a little of both. Lugging around over a hundred pounds in the trunk plus passengers makes the car extremely sluggish. But I also love cars that kinda make you look twice. I was looking at the u-bend delete, but that requires welding if i read correctly. Would it truely be worth it?

Your better off getting a ZZP downpipe instead. Then you can isntall yourself, no welding required.

You can look into a tune too, that will be a nice mod and wake the car up. You can do a tune and still have about a hundred bucks or so to use for something else

IIRC it says on ZZP's website their downpipe requires welding...

How could I tune? If you know how to tune, care if I drive up to Chicago and you help me out? haha jk man

You could buy an off the shelf tune from a vendor such as overkill, zzp, intense, etc and just swap pcm's. And I do have a tuner Wink. As soon as work dies down a little bit if you want to plan a weekend you can come up or depending on where you are I can come there and we can do a tune for ya.

And I'm pretty sure ZZP has a bolt in option

a downpipe would really only be ideal if he wanted to go all out and get forced induction eventually or heavily modded n/a... if you don't want that you might as well just get a u bend delete welded on by someone - shouldn't cost much. dps with high flow cats can throw a code so you'd have to get a tune to get that removed.

EDIT: If you want looks you can buy up some cans of plastidip and spray paint. Go crazy and paint your wheels or int/ext trim or engine bay.... let your creativity flow.

^^Lmao

I think im just gonna spray the whole outside of my car in plastidip, become the dark knight.

How much would a tune help me out? I would seriously consider that. I can make it to chicago in under 3 hours no problem.

EDIT: 00impala123, your sig looks fimiliar...

lol

Thats actually not true at all. The downpipe is the most restrictive point on these cars. Fixing that is a huge improvement in itself. u-bend is a waste for the amount of money it cost. You gain a few horsepower but the downpipe is a better option. (if you do it yourself for like 10 bucks its worth it but paying a shop 50 or 60 is a waste is basically what I'm saying).

The code is a simple 5 minute delete from someone with a tuner as well.

whatmh5- The tune is a huge improvement. As far as mods go, its the second best mod I have on my car right now. It really wakes up the car. Change shift points, firm up shifts, remove speed limiter, better gas mileage, remove knock to protect engine, etc. PM me if you want some more info on it.

From what I've read and as apparent as it is, the u-bend is THE most restrictive part of the exhaust. And if he goes that route he'd have to go over 200$...
