BIG BLAK. I was heading towards waldorf. Your car is pretty easy to spot. Not too many gold Imps with SS spoilers running around.

I started with 80 dry then went to 220 dry then went to 1,000 wet. Did it by hand because the speed of any sander I have would build too much heat to fast and melt the plastic and gunk the sandpaper.

The one I did got really smooth. Also used a sandable primer before painting. The one, yes 1, I did about 3 ish years ago and still looks great. I'll be doing the others in a week or two. I want to get them done before I move. I'll try to get a pic up for you.

I'm curious to see those pictures as well...my 01 has the gray body moldings that were pretty faded and I used "Forever Black" which is basically black dye in a bottle with a sponge on the top which after applying a couple coats gives it a fairly shiny black finish, but I think it would look a lot better body color or black.

Let's see those pics!

GOTIT4CHEAP, why didn't you make in body color? Impalas look alot sharper that way.

I'm confused... it looks like, in the pics, that you've already painted them black??

Yes i already started and painted them black using Krylon plastic paint. I intend to redo them and sand and smooth them down. I have been thinking about painting them the same color as the car but i then started to think that they would look just as good black and go great with the gold.

Been busy and its storming out now but I promise I'll get a pic up ASAP. I never liked the same color ones. Makes them disappear into the car rather than stand out.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll try and re-paint mine black before I go all out and do it all blue. I don't think the black looks SO bad on dark blue, as long as it's BLACK instead of greyish.. which mine are currently. I kind of like the black on the gold car too. I think it would look nice either way.
