Hey guys, I've been driving around lately and the battery light has been coming on, whether driving around town, highway, or just idling. I don't have to have my system turned up either. It's not on every time I drive either, very sporadic. The battery is fairly new and load tests fine. Is this a sign of my alternator going out? We just changed the alternator out about 4-5 years ago if I remember correctly, it was replaced with a genuine AC Delco replacement.

help!!! I REALLY don't want to get stranded somewhere!!

It was reading about 12.9 - 13.1. which isn't too good.

I've read around here a lot with a bunch of people saying that the the 125amp alternators will not fit on the non 9C1 3.8 impalas? is that correct?

3.4L motors can't take that alternator.

Hm..so now I'm stuck between the 125 amp alt for the 3.8, or getting a DCPower 190amp alt for $269, up from $170 for the 125...

I placed a order for a DC Power 190 amp alternator tonight, along with 0 gauge wiring from knukonceptz to do a true big 3 upgrade once it comes.

Now I'm gonna be needing a new battery. I think I'm going to be calling CarQuest and seeing how much one of their NGT Extreme AGM batteries cost, to replace my starting battery under the hood.
