Straight to the point i have an 05 ls 3.8 and so far i have a K&N CAI and a flowmaster original 40 series muffler. What is a good hi flow cat for this car? Should i stick with 2.5" all the way? I want to have a deep mean sound (like a lion lol) nothing racey. I want to delete the u bend but im thinking of keeping the resonator on or just getting a better one. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. I want to have a shop make me a down pipe does anyone know what diameter and how many bolts if any? Sorry i'm learning about this car as i go. Thanks!

Have you had a chance to take a look at ZZP's downpipes?

Although you will most likely have the P0420 code pop up from the aftermarket cat.

I thought the price was good for the ZZP Downpipe + you can bolt it right up in your driveway.

You risk the P0420 with any aftermarket cat because the stock ones don't flow so great. It's not 100% you will throw the code, but something to be aware of.

I have the 2.5" ZZP Downpipe with a Magnaflow High-Flo installed. I like it.

I don't know what kind of Cat it is. You could always ask ZZP what they use.

I didn't notice a big sound difference when I switched, but overall with all the work I have done I am pleased with the sound of my system.
